Veronica began studying Applied Behavior Analysis is 2013. She has a passion for helping families learn how to utilize ABA to increase functional skills and decrease maladaptive behaviors. Currently Veronica works with Autism Learning Partners as an Associate Clinical Director serving families with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Veronica began a Ph.D. program in Psychology specializing in Behavior Analysis in April 2018 where her focus of study is on helping adolescents with severe aggression. She plans to research the most effective and least intrusive ways to help this at-risk population in her community.

This presentation will provide insight into challenging behaviors (also commonly referred to as problem/maladaptive/bad behaviors) demonstrated by individuals diagnosed with ASD. The presentation will aim to support instructors and caregivers with the constant struggle they face with understanding and reacting to challenging behaviors.
